Brand Story Manager
Creo Chocolate is Portland’s own award winning chocolate maker with a factory and tasting room in the Lloyd district of Portland, Oregon, since 2014.
We make around 20 different chocolate bars and about 20 types of confections. From dark chocolate and milk chocolate to white chocolate and even a few things in between, something for every palate.
Today, we’re seeking a positive, creative, detail-oriented member who wants to grow their skills as they articulate Creo’s story through written, spoken and visual mediums.
About The Job
As the Brand Story Manager, oversee the telling of Creo’s story through all media forms. Performing tasks and manage contractors in various tasks such as:
~Developing and maintaining a content/editorial calendar
~Scheduling a photo shoot
~Storyboard for videos
~Brainstorming with other team members.
~Social media posting
~Working with graphic designer on new product packaging
~Reviewing video edits
~Working with Creo’s webmaster on SEO
~Reviewing Google ad words
Our ideal candidate loves to tell the story with words, video and creative media, and has strong written and verbal communication skills. They are energized by being creative, and have the ability to express thoughts and different forms of media to effectively help people connect with Creo’s vision in story.
Ability to work alone or with a team and can manage independent speciality contractors working with you.
They are a continual learner and not afraid of tackling a new challenge.
They also find great satisfaction in a job done beautifully with a focus on quality and consistency. They approach every situation with a can-do attitude no matter how sticky (or chocolatey) it might get. They keep cool under pressure and maintain a healthy perspective on the daily ups and downs and are ready to pivot when plans require adjustment. They are confident in project management and long-term planning.
Success will be measured by ability to hit goals and deadlines, maintain quality matrix and keep branding projects running smoothly among all people involved, internal and/or contractors.
~Communication -- Articulate Creo’s story to existing and potential customers in a way that is creative, accurate and winsome.
~Strategy -- Create and maintain a strategic daily, weekly, monthly production plan and communicate it to the team.
~Brand management -- Overseeing the big picture of Creo’s brand image and messaging
~Video, photo production -- Complete projects in house and manage outsourced projects/tasks as needed (We are fully equipped and want to be capable of doing as much as possible in house). Ability to edit video is a plus.
~Other tasks as necessary
Experience in a leadership role in a deadline-driven, team environment where setting and meeting goals is essential.
Project management and prioritization skills -- understand competing priorities and always try to maximize what you can accomplish with the available time and resources.
Excellent communication skills -- your communication style is approachable and clear, making it easy to coordinate with the Creo Team.
~Organizational skills -- a motivated, buttoned-up person who likes to plan (and back-up plan, and to backup your back-up plan) to make sure all your t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted.
~Positive attitude -- People want to work with you and around you again and again.
~Computer skills -- knowledge of Excel, Google Suite, Word, Adobe Suites, InDesign, and Photoshop. Ability to learn other tools.
~A good eye for layout and color
~Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
~Fluent spoken and written English.
