Enjoying chocolate is a treat in every season, and we think it’s high time to make summer and chocolate synonymous! Here are our five favorite ways to add a little chocolate magic to your summer.
Refresh with Sipping Chocolate
When you think of sipping chocolate, you probably think of a warm winter drink. But it is just as indulgent (and more refreshing) served cold! Using Creo’s sipping chocolate, which comes in three delightful flavors (Midnight Truffle, Mayan Spice, and Minty Dark), weigh out powder to heavy cream (or oat milk) at a 2:3 ratio for a thicker drink or a 1:1 ratio for a thinner, iced (hot) chocolate experience. Heat the cream to 125℉ and whisk in the powder. After a couple of minutes, pour over ice.
Another option we love is freezing milk ahead of time in an ice cube tray to keep the chocolate creamy rather than watered down as the ice melts. Add a straw and an umbrella for a totally decadent and refreshing summer chocolate drink.
Chocolate Fondue & You
Things get a little melty in the summer, so why not lean into it and make chocolate fondue for dessert? Creo’s Chocolate Pieces make for a perfect foundation, and you’ll also need heavy cream and a pinch of salt (1:1.5 ratio of chocolate to heavy cream). Heat the cream and salt until small bubbles form on the surface before pouring over the chocolate (in a fondue pot or heat-safe bowl) and letting it sit for 30 seconds. Whisk until smooth.
You can also use Creo’s bars for other chocolate variations, increasing or decreasing the cacao percentages (46, 62, 73, 85, or 100) to your preference. Or, use a flavored bar—like Caramelized White, Minty Dark, Dark Orange, or Spicy Dark—for even more pizazz.
And when it comes to what to dip into your delicious fondue once it’s melty and ready to go, the sky's the limit. Here are our go-to's:
- Fresh or dried fruit: strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, pineapple, and mango
- Shortbread or harder cookies like biscotti or graham crackers
- Pretzels and kettle-cooked chips for a sweet, salty, and crunchy combo
- Rice Krispies Treats
- Cheesecake bites
