Shipping chocolate in the summer

Summer shipping FAQ

Can Creo Chocolate ship chocolate in the summer?

  • Yes! From May 1st through October 31st, special packaging is required to ensure your order arrives in good condition.  We pack our products with dry or blue ice, and you must choose appropriate shipping methods to ensure your candy will not melt.

When does Creo Chocolate ship summer orders?

  • We are dedicated to ensuring that our products reach your doorstep in great condition.  In warm weather months, we do not ship Creo products Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, to avoid the risk of sitting in trucks, warehouses, or on your doorstep over the weekend and melting.  Any Creo orders received after 12pm Tuesday, Pacific Time, will be shipped the following Monday.

How do I make sure chocolate doesn't melt in the mail?

  • Choose 2nd Day Air to avoid chocolate melting when outdoor temperature exceeds 68°. Cold packs are only effective if your order will reach you in 2 days.

  • Choose Next Day Air when outdoor temperature exceeds 85°.

  • Make sure to select a shipping destination where someone will be there to sign for package and bring it in from the heat.

When should I choose standard shipping?

  • We ship standard orders via UPS Standard ground. If you fall within the yellow "1 Day" area of the map, feel free to use UPS Standard ground shipping on a hot day - just be sure someone is home to bring the chocolate indoors when it arrives!

  • Also, please note that UPS is unable to deliver to P.O., A.P.O., A.F.B. or F.P.O. boxes.  A street address consisting of a Rural Route, Box, Highway or State Route can only be accepted with an area code and telephone number.
